Job Purpose:
You would be responsible for:
a. Conceptualization of social media campaigns: Developing and proposing creative concepts for social media campaigns in alignment with UNFPA mandate in the area of gender equality and prevention of violence against women,
b. Development of editorial content: Creating initial drafts for opinion pieces and articles to be published in traditional media outlets. These should articulate the UNFPA's mission, detail its programs, projects, and events, and aim to increase public understanding and engagement with UNFPA's work.
c. Promotional video conceptualization: Formulating brief concept outlines (synopses) for promotional videos, especially short-form content tailored for platforms like Instagram Reels. This task involves collaboration with the Communications Analyst to ensure alignment with communication objectives and aesthetic standards.
d. Story drafting for web stories: Identifying compelling stories emanating from UNFPA BiH’s programming activities, suitable for publication on both the UNFPA BiH and global websites.
e. Content drafting for programmatic web pages: Preparing content for inclusion on specific UNFPA BiH sub-pages dedicated to gender equality and prevention of violence against women,
f. Creation of promotional written material: Generating written content for various UNFPA promotional materials, including leaflets, posters, and merchandise such as notebooks, T-shirts etc. This task requires close collaboration with the Communications Analyst to ensure consistency in messaging and design.
g. Compilation of media and visibility reports: Craft comprehensive reports on UNFPA’s traditional media presence and visibility. This involves analyzing data and insights from media monitoring, provided by an external company, to assess the impact and reach of UNFPA’s media strategies.
h. Undertaking logistical and administrative arrangements required for the successful planning and delivery of events.
i. Raising requisitions for Comms related costs in ERP system.
j. Carry out any other duties as may be required by the Supervisor
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
- Completed secondary level education (high school or equivalent) is required.
- University degree in the field of journalism, communications, media, international relations or related is desirable.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in creation and distribution of
communication and digital content at the national level or two (2) years
of experience with a first level (or advanced) university degree. - Demonstrated experience in creating social media content, especially for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as experience with new media executions, preferably with a non-government organisation
- Knowledge and understanding of local and global digital landscape and trends
- Experience with graphic design, ability to create designs for digital media purposes in open source graphic design programmes, such as Canva
- Create shareable, compelling, visual contents blending video, photo, and effects to increase engagement and growth, including short videos and stories.
- Ability to integrate PR/communication initiatives with social media Develop content to be used on different platforms; website, social media channels, email communication, newsletter, printed brochures, annual reports
- Actively engage with online audiences through digital channels;
- Actively contribute to team creative brainstorming and keep abreast of new trends and creative ways to tell stories using a variety of media.
- Creatively and consistently engage audiences on social media channels, through a wide range of social media activities including LIVES, polling, quizzing and challenges, primarily on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts
- Monitor and engage on comments, posts and DMs and respond to requests accordingly
- Perform other duties as required.
- Medium-scale coordination and administrative experience.

Compensation and Benefits:
