UNFPA–EBCOG Professional Development Scholarship Programme 2016
he Scholarship Programme is a result of cooperation agreement between UNFPA EECARO and the European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (EBCOG), aiming the institutional capacity building for improvement of the quality of SRH services in EECA countries; the programme is offering annual award of the value of € 4,000, as a contribution towards the cost of the successful applicant’s visit to a specialised centre offering knowledge, skills and quality improvement in sexual and reproductive health care. The host centre will be nominated by EBCOG from one of its 37 European member professional associations and collaborating European Subspecialist Societies, based on focus and specific needs of the successful applicant/s.
The applicants must be health professionals from EECA Countries (EECA Region) working in the field of SRH, responsible for development and implementation of SRH strategies and programmes, aimed it improvement of the quality of care.

PETRI – Sofia Annual School- nominations by June 8th
The Peer Education Training and Research Institute (PETRI) – Sofia is a joint project based on the strong partnership between the National Center for Public Health and Analyses and UNFPA.
With an envision to have a regional network of organizations and individuals who implement and design high quality life skills based and peer education programs for successful improvement of youth knowledge attitude and skills about sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS prevention, PETRI empowers youth networks and activists to work and contribute in the field of the peer education standardization, peer education programs, monitoring and evaluation, peer education training for vulnerable populations, peer education research, information sharing, policy dialogue and advocacy, project development and management, HIV prevention among vulnerable populations.
PETRI – Sofia and UNFPA, EECA Regional Office utilize allocated funds to address the needs and to increase the capacity of the national Y-PEER and other youth organizations and networks working in the field of young people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights.
After carefully analyzing the results of a survey on Training Needs for Peer-Educators, Youth Leaders and Focal Points of Y-PEER Networks in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, PETRI – Sofia and UNFPA EECARO have agreed on implementing the PETRI – Sofia Annual Training of Trainers.
Number of participants in the training: 2 participants per country from the Region of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The participation of one person from each country will be funded by PETRI – Sofia; the participation of the second person will be funded by the corresponding UNFPA Country Office.
Duration of the module: 7 days
Dates of the training: July 12th until July 18th, 2016; date of arrival – July 11th; date of departure – July 19th.
