Art as such brings people and different cultures together and helps us understand and respect diversity. Music, on the other hand, has a universal language that everyone understands and can also be a very powerful tool in promoting dialogue and cooperation. It allows us to express our identity, but also to show our creativity. Through learning and understanding the different cultures in the community, we can learn how to become better.

Art is what guides me through life and music is my choice precisely because of its universality and beauty. I have a degree in musical arts - piano, and I am currently pursuing Master's degree, and I have been working part-time for four years as a voice and piano teacher. No, I'm not bragging, I'm just stating the facts like someone who knows what he or she is talking about.

During my last year, as an undergraduate student, I designed a curriculum that could be used in preschools for 3-6 year olds. The curriculum contains many interesting workshops through which children start learning instruments and music in general at an early age, and the main goal is to help them discover their musical talent.

Also, I have a degree in international relations and diplomacy and was chosen by the EU Commission, the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, an expert jury, to be the young European ambassador for the Western Balkans. As I do with music, through this role I intend to promote EU values in my local community and I already understand and promote the differences between us all, sharing ideas and developing the ability to inspire change within communities.

I think that the combination of diplomacy and music, my sphere of interest, can be a great basis for my contribution to the community in general. That is why, the UNFPA Young Peacebuilding Programme is an excellent step in the further development of me as a person and my active participation in society. I believe that young people are the agent of change. It is we who can help the younger population to wake up and realize that their participation in making changes can improve the society in which we live. At the same time, UNFPA is also working on strengthening youth peer education, which is very important, and will result in the elimination of all forms of discrimination. Healthy communication and promotion of true values, through a non-violent form of problem solving, is a way to show younger and older generations that teamwork, creative thinking and “togetherness” are the key to a better future. I know, the musical key.
